Right!

Yes, yes India won against Ireland today. Too bad I missed most of the match.
Anyway, I did find some really funny press conference footage... you know to cheer myself up.

So tell me does this not look like a really badly made B-grade consipracy thriller movie?
Hah Hah.
LOL.

Thought so.

10 Maidens bowled!!:

The next thing you know there will be reports of Dhoni being responsible for Sehwag's injury.

I don't give a flying fuck to Dhoni and Sehwag having a fallout. These things are supposed to stay within the team. When you have a problem within your family you don't go around telling the whole world about it, you take care of the problem.

It's typical of the media to use catchphrases like "Bring Back the Cup" and then do their utmost best to get the players' minds off cricket. But hey, whatever sells!!!

Mahek,

The thing is even if they don't get along well, how does it matter.
Like you said, they should fix it internally.
I just found the whole thing ridiculous. And the background music? Atrocious!

But still it was a simple question to captain regarding the fitness of one of his player what's the big deal in answering that question. Well you don't earn shit load of money and act sacrosanct at the end of the day. And we the masses are interested in what our captain has to say about the most important player(at least to me)in the Indian team currently.

I have it on good authority that this whole drama is b'coz no movies have been released in India...people need something for their addiction, and the media, being the wonderful people they are, are giving it to the public...

IP,

When this issue broke a few days ago, I thought the media was cooking up stories. But the way MSD reacted, I've started to believe that there is something more there.
People don't get along at all times. So it does not bother me.

Anyway, that was not the point of my post. The thing is the way they report it, even if it was a smallish issue, its definitely going to get messed up. The background music, the words used.. its all very caricaturish to be honest. And Times is one of the leading chanels if I am not mistaken.

Megha,

Lol!

Indophile,

So what if they earn so much money? No one is forcing people to watch them play. And since I'm guessing most people want to see them win, shouldn't they want the players to focus on just cricket instead of answering to the media?

It's a well-known fact that Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne weren't too fond of each other. Did it affect their cricket? No. Did it affect the team? Certainly not.

This whole media thing started years ago when Paes and Bhupathi were the number one doubles pair. They were doing so well but all the media wanted to focus on was "a rift". I've been sick of their sensationalist ways ever since.

BGM and stuff has always been there in recent times. When the Ambani brothers split up, the graphics team went overboard with a pic of the two bros struck by a lightning and splitting into 2 halves, one in each half separated by the lightning streak. With appropriate BGM
It is not as if this was invented to cook Dhoni. Basically, that is standard issue format for the news media recent times. Why complain only now when Dhoni is targetted?

Dhoni is basiclaly saying "if you question my integrity...then I wont talk to you" except that he isnt sayint it aloud but his actions clearly say that. Flining papers at the mediamen - how cool is that?
Poor Ricky, he was abused for saying something similar. I suspect quite a few Dhoni supporters here tore into Ponting then.
(And yeah, what a day, I post in support of Pricky!)

Mahek,

Good point about the money.

Just because it is the standard, does not make it right.
I would've complained if any cricketer would've been targetted like that. It just happened to be Dhoni.
And this being a cricket blog, I ignore other issues.

Dhoni is basiclaly saying ... except that he isnt sayint it aloud but his actions clearly say that.

Er.. we can't blame people for what we percieve they are not saying now.. can we?!

Flining papers at the mediamen - how cool is that?

No that ain't cool. If he did that he must apologize. Agreed.
