OK I am being a tad dramatic, but consider this:
Got the pink slip a month or so ago (lived in denial about it for a while) + India exits out of the ICCT20 + had a falling out with a "star-crossed" friend which has put me in a bit of a Meena Kumari type funk + graduated summa cum laude (Er... wait, that's a good thing) + got into Jhansi Ki Rani mode for the sake of MSD and had argy-bargys with others (but no, I don't regret it, and do click on the link-great poetry with translation) + have a "family emergency" in India which could put a bad Bollywood script to shame!Sigh!
But the good news is I am running away to Sainikpuri, Secunderabad, India.
YAY!
For two months!
I guess the perks of being unemployed!
I might even indulge in a bit of Bharat Darshan!
So if you see a woman sitting alone in an airport lounge, watching cricket.. while her family watches from afar (slightly exasperated) -- feel free to swing by and say hello.
Yup that would be me.
You know what this means right?
.
.
.
Yup... not-so-regular blogging for a while :-(
(maybe...)
But hey, I might be sooo happy at watching a match for free, that I might even post something on the Ashes. I might.
In the meantime talk amongst yourselves.
(And also a good time to look at my old posts. You should you know ;-))
In two months time people... I'll be back.
It has been a pleasure.
(*Sigh*)
19 Maidens bowled!!:
Leela,
Sorry about the pink slip and the star crossed friend.Congratulations on the summa cum laude. Good luck with the family emergency in India.
Hopefully this will tide sooner rather than later and you will get to watch cricket ( and enjoy your time in India).
Looking forward to your posts in a couple of months..
Until then,Bon Voyage and Tally ho

Leela,
I heartfully second Homer's comments. (Now I understand why you temporarily decided to quit blogging a couple of months ago).
Enjoy your time in Hyderabad. I miss the place. You ought to take snaps while you are there and blog about it (hint, hint). That way transplanted Hyderabadis like me can live vicariously through the photos!
Bon voyage and enjoy the view.
Sorry to hear about your problems, Leela. Hope you have a good time in India and return back to blogging.
Damn...you're going to the land of biryani. Bring me some when you're back. Oh wait, if things go well I might just have moved back to India by then!

Leela
Sorry to hear about the series of unfortunate events. I'm a firm believer in two things :
1. There's always a silver lining in every dark cloud.
2. Things are meant to happen for a reason.
I'm pretty sure before you know it, things would be right where the should be - A OK.
Take care
Been a pleasure reading your blog posts.
Tough luck on the pink slip and other unfortunate events. Hopefully, some improved performances from Dhoni and co. will coincide with your return!

Thanks a lot.

Good luck with everything Leela.
Thanks Prabu.

We all are left to fight our own battle, in various forms. And most of us come out with flying colours. May the passing phase pass faster.
Cheers Som!
Sorry to hear about all the unfortunate stuff, Leela. I hope that all will pass and life smoothens out for you ASAP.
Since I had my own problems, (illness, convalesence, then a hectic time cleaning the tangles arising in my work due to my absence - I happen to be self employed without assistants) I was away from the blogs for over a month and was unaware that you were not blogging.
Do come back as soon as your problems are sorted out.
Hey Adverbin,
I am doing swell! Will blog soon.
:-)
I hope you are doing well now and things are OK for you too.
