Here it goes:
India - Obviously!
While the Indian camp has had to deal with injury issues, and the pace-bowling seems weak, I do hope team India does well.
(PLEASE!)
After a sustained campaign, albeit with a few hiccups, (and with some help from the Saffers and the Aussies) team India has managed to place itself on top of the ever-fluctuating rankings.
Some of the victories have been ugly, but a win is better than a loss.
So it's OK, I guess.
Australia - I do like them you know...
I did not see their recent campaign against England, not that that matters (England are shite against most oppositions), but I do have a feeling they'll do well.
Or maybe I am hoping they do well.
Oh c'mon, you know they'll be there in the final four.
We always need one team that punches above its weight in a tournament.
It's written in the Vedas.
And since the Kiwis are determined to fail, I've chosen Sri Lanka.
Plus they boast of freaks, such as Mendis, Murali, and Dilshan.
You have to root for them.
England - No this is not a joke. Yes, I can explain.
I read NWG's post this morning, and she is supporting India (after England, of course! And she has her reasons..) and it's such a rarity to see a non-Indian supporting India that I decided to return the favor.
Plus, what are the chances of England losing yet another ODI thinggy??
OK don't answer that.
A quick note on the other four.
Pakistan - They won the T20 thinggy right? So why another tournament?
:D
Windies - Umm...
New Zealand - See above.
South Africa - No.
That's all.
26 Maidens bowled!!:
No South Africa? Why no?
except SL, i second you on 3 options. Biggest on firsst 2.
And by any chance did your blog go private today morning or noon EST (12-2PM) ?
Purna,
Welcome to the blog.
:-)
I dunno... just don't feel the love for them.
I like Rudolph, though.
Sameer,
Wouldn't an Aus-Ind final be the best?
Yes...it was set to private.
I'm with you on England. It isn't farfetched to imagine they could progress.
India's is almost like an injured XI :(
I hope they win though...
SB,
Thanks for saying that.
Divya,
injured XI
Aww...
BTW I am still pretending Yuvi is not injured.
:-(
England, really?
I think Pakistan will qualify in place of Australia though.
KMC,
The England thing is not a logical wish really...
BTW just read your post.
;-)
Pak in place of Aus? Hmmm...
And, yes, welcome to the blog.
:-)
Cheers Leela. To each their own.
Except when it comes to England :p
India, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand if I could have it me way. But I think it might be Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa. We're severely depleted through injuries and haven't been bowling or fielding well of late.
no i perfectly understand you chosing england...
don't we need walkover to finals...? ;-)
Leela
I want England to qualify too...but only if India get to play their Semi final against them ;-)
Thanks Leela. And thank you for recommending Homer to my blog.
You should really watch ROFL (Roelof Van der Merwe) more often. Everybody feels the love for him.
KMC,
Cheers!
Mahek,
Yeah.. Injured XI might find it tough to get past the first round.
:-(
SP/Meg,
Cheers!
Purna,
You should really watch ROFL (Roelof Van der Merwe) more often.
Been watching since his RCB days.
(Except that I can't spell Rudolph's name to save my life.)
NP. You have a good blog there.
Oh, when you said Rudolph I thought you meant Jacques Rudolph who is also a Saffa player. LOL.
Thanks.
The only thing certain is to see Aus in the semis, and hopefully for me to whip S Af in the semis and then go on for the title.
Nothing beats watching S Af being stuffed in their home turf. That is before they stuff it themselves :)
If Ind get's it past Pak tomorrow, then it's a no brainer that they will be in the semi's, tks to WI being in the same group.
Group B is looking hard to predict. But I would love to have S Af get to the semis and have a brain freeze :-) would also love to see the Black Caps make it through.
Hi Leela
Could you please update your blogroll with my new web address www.sillymaidon.com...
Cheers,
Megha
TG,
I would really like the Black Caps to do well, but they just seem out of it.
Except when they played against India.
:-(
Megha,
Sure. I 'll update the link
Awright! Looks like England will be in the finals after all!
Good feeling that you had. :)
SB,
It reached the semi-finals which is what I wanted...
:)
But what a loss to Aus!
