Not for us baba! For Australia.
Literally. Because James Hopes is not playing in the next match.
(How clever of me!)
And Lee and Johnson might be dealing with injuries too.
You know what this means? You know?
There might actually be a possibility of Watto leading the Australian attack. No wait, that might be Siddle.
(I am too tierd to worry about trivial details now...)
YAHOOOoOOooo.
I went and replayed the (in the words of TG) "it beggars belief" over.
The technical term for that bowling is uh oh oh oh.
In SMG's voice.
Of course if an Indian bowler had done that, we would've lynched him. Or probably his effigy.
This also means that Andrew MacDonald will be bowling. (I am not sure where I read that... not Cricinfo.)
Remind me, is he a good bowler? Did he not win a match for Victoria in the CL 2009?
I am just prejudiced and mean, but Donald should not be winning any games for any team.
I checked. It's written in the holy books. Each one of them.
And I can kill Bhajji for making Hauritz look like a spinner. Actually I could kill Ponting for.... ok leave it. Too many reasons.
I just re-read what I wrote. That's not me! Eeeps!
:-D
Please feel free to blame my co-worker for me being cranky.
Peace.
EDIT: Hot off the presses. Lee and Johnson are indeed sitting out. And the Australians have paged Moises Henriques. I am paging KP. Kieron Pollard. Right Now.

21 Maidens bowled!!:
Surely the perfect time for India to level up the series.....
But is winning against a depleted team still give the same joy....??
You bet so...when it's the Aussies....
Nielsen is still hopeful of Johnson playing tomorrow. I say why can't he show similar hope for Hope? Or is he actually hoping against Hope?
With Yuvraj back in the team,India should give them a good old spanking as they gave England last year!
And the Aussie bowling line up would go something like Siddle,Bollinger,Hauritz,Hilfenaus,Moises/Holland and Watto!
Andrew MacDonald is not even in the squad!
Time for Sehwag,Yuvraj to redeem Themselves!
CPD,
Winning against any team, depleted or otherwise, is still winning!
Som,
OK I guess as far as Hope the bowler goes. But what's wrong with Hopes the #7 batsman?
Aditya,
Andrew MacDonald is not even in the squad!
Thank you Lord!
Must be a random hallucination on my part.
Though why I am hallucinating about Donald is totally creeping me out!
:0
Leela
Isn't the hot of press tag mis leading ? Only Lee and Hopes have been ruled out tomorrow, Johnson is still a shoe in. Or do you have some spies in the Aus camp ??
Why do I think tomorrow, the Indian batsmen will fall over each other trying to fill in their boots against a depleted Aus attack. This would lead to a batting failure and another Aus win :-) :-)
TG,
Oops. I must have read what I was hoping to read. You know how that goes.
;-)
Anyway, even if they lose I am not gonna stop supporting them.
Loyal fan. Much like yourself who continues to support the Aussies despite they losing the Ashes.
;-)
TG,
On a serious note...
I think CI updated the post after I put the link in there.
Cricketnext still carries this story,
Hilditch had announced this morning that Johnson is one of the three injured players -- Brett Lee and Adam Hopes being the other two -- who would miss Tuesday's match with injuries.
Yes the announcement has changed since then, but really I can't be having two hallucinations in one day!
;-)
You know how reliable cricketnext are when they can't even get Hopes's first name right.
What I read on cricinfo is Johnson wasn't fit when they drafted a press release but has reacted well to treatment and might play.
I don't think an Indian victory is a done deal with the kind of cricket we've been playing. Being cocky never helps, especially when you have been playing pathetic cricket.
Leela, who is Adam Hopes - have Adam Voges and James Hopes indulged in some hanky-panky, to borrow a phrase from paki politicians, to produce an offspring that, miraculously is old enough to join them in the Aussie team?
Looking at how Johnson bowled today, maybe it wouldn't have been a bad idea for him to miss out :-)
At least one part of my prediction has fallen flat. It's going to be some chase for the Aus. Still though with the Indian bowling attack, any target might be within reach :-) :-)
Lastly, thanks for the Ashes reminder. That's one series loss that will take eons to get over, if ever.
Mahek,
I refrenced CNext to make the point, that I had read this info on CI.
Raj,
Perhaps.
;-)
Aussie captain bowling first on a beauty of a batting track. If only teams realised the whole dew thing is something idiots like Arun Lal consider important. It would be interesting to see what percentage of D/N games were won by the team that won the toss and bowled first (Presumably because they had the dew factor in mind).
Tg,
Still though with the Indian bowling attack, any target might be within reach
Umm...
;-)
Leela
Ahem, it didn't quite pan out the way I had envisaged it. I'll take a view that Aus were being ' nice' to India to let them have a win early in the series. You don't want a repeat of what Aus did to Eng a couple of months back do you ? :-)
Fair credit, chasing 355 , needed a Gilchrist cameo to kick start the innings, and what Aus got was a whimper. Match done and pretty much dusted once Ponting got out.
Ah well, Delhi and an Aus win should be all right. All I'm after is three more wins for them :-)
TG,
And you remember what Yuvi Xi did to England?
;-)
oK. Wait. Why we talking about England?
:-)
I am not so sure about Aus in Delhi. I think the men in Blue will rock this one.
Oh I am praying cupcake plays.
Tg,
I meant I hope cupcake stays injury-free and plays.
Leela
Yuvi strutted his stuff against Eng in India, when Ind played Eng in Eng in the last ODI series, they LOST 3- 4 :-)
Aus hammered Eng IN Eng. Big difference don't you think ;)
Ah you always want to talk Eng with me to just rub it in on the ' Ashes' - well do it for a yr and then it wouldn't hurt at all ;)
As to Watson - careful what you ask for, he could just be the difference for Aus. Here's to a good match tomorrow !
Cheers
TG,
Yeah I remember that Pre-Dhoni era series.
;-)
The one where our fielders were dropping catches and Powar was attempting to stop the ball by throwing his weight around. Literally.
And distracting us from his laughable attempts by wearing red sun-glasses!!!
Heck I could've done a better job, and that's saying something because I am an ISO-certified couch potato.
Any other team worth it's salt would've defeated that India with a much bigger margin.
I take your point though about Watson. Bad Karma always manages to find me.
I'll shut up now.
