The only choice

Now that all the IPL teams have been kicked out(Gee thanks B'lore!), and the rest of the world is reading this as the victory of good over evil (??), the big question for me is who do I support?

A few days ago I'd have probably said the Vics; however, now I say: T&T.
Yeah.

Especially because their celebrations have been awesome. And KP has been the king of awesome.
Totally!

Go T&T!!

p.s. No one told me Darren Ganga is gorgeous. Hmpf.

16 Maidens bowled!!:

And Daren Ganga is so sexy!

Count me in when you form the T&T fan club. Pollard you beauty!

and BTW, this is the only Indian team left in the fray!

Having spent some time on multiple occasions in T&T, I can tell you that they are a fun-loving bunch of folks who must be totally thrilled with the way their team is doing.

I have not watched the tournament but was filled in by my parents (who live a couple of miles from the stadium in Hyderabad).

As Som says - this is indeed the only Indian team left in the tournament.

What I liked from that highlight package was how few of the shots hit by Pollard were cross-batted slogs.

Yess, T&T over the dirty blue Australians!

missfieldisoffside,

And he is articulate too.
That's what I call beauty with brains.

Leela said...

Som,

True, if not East Indian, we'll cheer for a West Indian team!!!

JQ,

I just started watching the tournament, and am I glad!

(The T&T team reminds me of Joe Wilfred Tsonga for some reason!)

It's a pity that the stadium is not smack in the center of the city otherwise we would have seen a packed stadium even when the IPL teams are not playing.

KMC,

Those "dirty blue Australians" are some of the nicest Australians (no that ain't an oxymoron!) around.
They even walk.
(Well, OK Shane Harwood does look threatening... I concede.)

:-)

You know once they had qualified, I was hoping T&T lose this match, just to get that defeat out of the way.

They don't know defeat, well hopefully.

I prefer Victoria to NSW though. NSW is too much of the Australia we have seen forever.

Leela,

The stadium is in the best part of Hyderabad...thank you very much! Hmpffff indeed. :-) The hillock right behind the stadium is where I spent a lot of my childhood climbing up and down and exploring different nooks and paths.

My folks tell me that the Chargers have not won a single game at home. Huh? Is that true?

Leela said...

JQ,

Oops! Uppal rocks!!!
;-)

Yup, no win for DC in Hyd yet; such a shame considering that it's such a good stadium (at least looks so on TV).

Leela, the stadium is not exactly in Uppal, but close enough for government work, in my opinion.

I did wander into the stadium when I went home for a visit a couple of years ago. It was not fully constructed then but the ground was picture perfect - grassy and well-maintained. I went to watch Laxman play in a Ranji ODI match (where he did hit a match-winning 50, by the way).

I am amazed that the Deccan Chargers as a "home" team has not won a single game. Didn't they win IPL2 (or did they not have "home games" in IPL2 because it was in SA)?

The Chargers haven't won a game in Hyderabad. There was a home and an away team in the last IPL season but it was only for the sake of the toss.
